Jan Uzdowski, 45 has denied all knowledge of the drugs in his truck which were a staggering 70.79kg of pure cocaine. They were hidden in his refrigerated trailer and discovered by customs services. According to the prosecutor the drugs were hidden underneath the floor of the traier and had not been detected when the lorry had passed through French and German customs inspections.Uzdowski claimed that he was transporting onions and had discovered a telephone that had been left on his battery. When checked it was discovered that there had been several messages sent to the telephone asking about the lorries location. Uzdowski claims that he simply replied to the messages but did not question who had sent them.
