Kalu Oleka Ude, 43, of Rue de Begeqk, Lome, Togo, was arrested by UK Border Agency (UKBA) officers when he arrived on a flight from Gambia last Tuesday, an HMRC spokesman said.A search found the drugs, which could have fetched up to £150,000 on the streets once "cut" by dealers, the agency said.Oleka Ude has been remanded in custody at Manchester City Magistrates' Court.Peter Hollier, of the HMRC, said: "Working with our colleagues in the UKBA we will take every action to detect, seize and bring those smuggling drugs into the country before the courts."

Susanna Binti Janury has been charged with drug smuggling after she allegedly arrived at East Midlands Airport with cocaine, said HM Revenue and Customs.
More than three kilos of the class A drug cocaine were found in luggage with an estimated value of £150,000 - although this would have doubled or even trebled once 'cut' by drug dealers, HMRC said.UK Border Agency officers intercepted the suspect after she arrived on a flight from the Gambia.
After questioning, officers searched her luggage and found the cocaine concealed in its base.Susanna Binti Janury was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in Loughborough, a HMRC spokeswoman said.

Cocaine discovered inside a consignment of footballs.

Cocaine with a potential value of up to £120,000 has been discovered inside a consignment of footballs. One hundred packets of the drug were found sewn into the lining of five balls from Brazil by customs officers at East Midlands Airport. A total of 650g was recovered and officers said a basic street value of £40,000 could be trebled if it was mixed with other substances. No arrests have been made and investigations continue. The consignment arrived on Monday and was destined for an address in the London area.
