Jaleeza Lobdell had a history of drug abuse. An autopsy revealed cocaine. Investigators believe the 14-year-old died of a drug overdose.
Lobdell's mother told police she'd gone out with her cousin and two men. The cousin was dropped off in Federal Way, but Jaleeza never showed up. Orchard workers found her charred remains a few months later. Detectives just identified the body using DNA from her mother, and now want to know who drove the teen's body so far away from where she was from to try to hide it.

SOMEONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING OUR JALEEZA. SHE WAS MERELY A CHILD. SHE WASNT OLD ENOUGH TO BUY CIGARETTES LET ALONE DRUGS. WHO GAVE HER DRUGS???? SHE WAS CLASSIFIED BY POLICE AS A "RUNAWAY" WELL THAT WAS 6 MONTHS AGO. ISNT IT THAT AFTER 30 DAYS THEY ARE CONSIDERED AS MISSING??? NO ONE EVEN INTERVIEWED THE "COUSIN" THAT WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE THE STORY, UNTIL AFTER OUR LIL GIRL WAS FOUND DEAD. AND THE POLICE DIDNT CONTACT HER. SHE ONLY SPOKE TO THE DETECTIVES FROM JALEEZA'S HOME THIS PAST WEEK AFTER WE WERE TOLD JALEEZA WAS DEAD. THE BALL WAS DROPPED. PLEASE FIND HER KILLER.

My prayers and thoughts are with your family. I too have a 14 year old daughter that just so happens to be one of Jaleeza's friend. It touched my heart in so many ways when i heard about what happened to Jaleeza. How could anyone try to hide the fact that what they did was wrong then try to burn a precious child like trash!! I am also furious with the police for one reason "Runaways" are people too. If a child is a runaway, shouldn't the police still be searching for that child? Remember Zina, the young teenager who was "missing" for the tacoma hill top area? The Tacoma Police had the parents asking for help on t.v. newspaper was asking for help, the neighbors and the whole community was involved with this awful situation. But I did not hear anything about Jaleeza on t.v. not one time until her death. I am so sorry for Jaleeza's case being treated like some "Jane Doe" off the streets. Like I said before, my daughter hangs around Jaleeza's cousin, and I can't even imagine anything like this happening to my child. I didn't know Jaleeza personally, but i still feel like she is my daughter! She was a very beautiful young lady that had a future that someone took away. I pray that they find whoever is responsible for Jaleeza's death.

Who killed my cousin Jaleeza Lobdell? Why isn't anything being done about her death? Does anyone care? She was a bright smiling young girl who loved life. She made a mistake that cost her, her life. What will happen from here on out? Will the guy's who did this to her be caught? Will they be punished? Will they keep disposing of bodies and getting away with it? How could they do such a thing to my cousin? Don't they know they were taking a loved one away for ever? I'm sad and frusterated that nothing has came about this whole mess. I pray that who ever did this will be caught and sent to prision for many years to rott.
What will be done now? Will they find my cousins killers? Will they rot in prison? Will they be found and prosecuted? Will anything ever be done? Will my cousin be forgotten by the justice that we are all meant to have had and deserve? Why is it taking so long? What is really going on? How long does a case like this take to be solved? A child makes a mistake and dies? She gets burned and thrown away? Ask yourself "What if this were your child"? What would be done? I'm frustrated and saddened about my little young cousin Jaleeza's death and believe more should be done.

Has anyone talked to her cousin? How about the guys she was with? The police know who these men are but aren't "actively" looking for them. In other words, if they get pulled over for a traffic stop and the officer or deputy recognizes him as the men that they want to question in jaleeza's death, that's the only time they'll talk to them. Or if the men turn themselves in. Yakima doesn't have the resources to go looking on the west side and until they can prove she died elsewhere, it's their case. The problem is that she's from Tacoma, possibly died in Pierce County, and was dumped and burned in Yakima and so no police or sheriff's office wants to claim the case as their own. Especially since their work may not result in any serious charges, because if she did die of an overdose then there was no murder, and law enforcement may only be able to charge these guys with concealing a body, a gross misdemeanor.
If there is someone out there, her parents, friends, the cousin she was with the day she disappeared, who could talk to me about this I think I can help. I'm a reporter trying to follow up on this story so we can all find out what really happened to Jaleeza.
